Well, as you guys know, yesterday I'm back from the three-week orientation. I am pretty sure that you guys are very happy and glad to hear this news. So from now on I have my phone back and I can get in touch with you guys again. I am so happy for that as well. Here I'm gonna share some of my experiences being there for three weeks and also the neat and some bad experiences that I have there during the orientation. But most of these were the ones that were very memorable for me, because I'm pretty lazy to point out all of the details of this activity. :P

For the first three days or something like that, well, to be honest, the first week, it feels very, very long. Also that for the first days I feel pretty positive about the activities that we will get through during the orientation. Well the first days we started with some meetings with several earlier graduates from the boarding school. I have to tell you guys this - most, or maybe all of the graduates here are successful. And, you know what? There's lots of the graduates from my new school that went to the military and police academy. There's one from the Army, Navy and well, maybe Air Force as well. But well I'm not pretty interested with that. :P And well, back to the topic. The first three days in there, the orientation is not even started. It's started in the first Monday of August. Well I also have to say, there's many unexpected things that happened there. For example, in the first day of the orientation, there's someone who have a birthday, and being yelled at several times by the seniors. Then all of us, including the seniors, wishes him a happy birthday. And then, well, we also have some classes in this orientation. Well that sounds bad, but well I think it's good for us to stay updated in terms of academy. But well most of them were only introductions. And also we get some speeches about how we will run in this new school, and also some others. Oh, also that in the Saturday night, there's a movie session. Well, it's an inspirational movie, but I still enjoyed it. Well the first week went pretty well, until Sunday. To be honest I accidentally yelled at one of the seniors because I'm in a hurry trying to fix up my stuffs, and then being yelled back by one of them. That's my first mistake for the orientation. Then they punish me by giving me a five-time push-up. Well it's not that bad for me to be honest.

The second week started not as excited as before. I feel very bad for the Sunday incident, but well I still managed to get through them. The whole Monday to Friday, eh, I mean, Thursday, were filled with classes. It's kinda boring in the start but in Friday we went camping. Where? To a local country club. But it's fun to do to be honest. At first we went from the school to the camping grounds by doing several "games" or something like that. The first game was to make my team several shapes such as a circle and other shapes, with only the aid from the group leader. At first we managed to make a circle as told by one of the seniors, but the second shape, the parallelogram, we failed to do it. Then we went to the 2nd game - creativity. We were told to make a musical drama, but it's not that perfect. We only have maybe 5 or 10 minutes, well maybe 3, I don't remember, to set out the plan of it. It doesn't work pretty well but we managed to get through it. After that we went to the line of march game. This one really sucks. The seniors gave us fast commands and yells us a LOT of time. And when we did a mistake we were immediately sentenced with push-ups. It's totally exhausting but we managed to do it as well. Then we went to the next game with running but one of our teammates got an asthma, because he's too exhausted. Before the line game he told me he can't run anymore. But the seniors immediately helped him. Then we went to the two last games by crossing several rice paddies. Not that much to be honest. In the second last game, we were also being yelled at lots of times and we have to hold some caterpillars, without looking. Then we have to drink some herbs without looking too. Also don't forget that we have to do lots of push-ups there as well, with the seniors yelling at us at the same time. Then we finally reach the camping grounds. But when we enter it we have to go prone and crawl several meters, and then we went to rest before the final and the best game there - flying fox. We went to that game after resting. Then when we went down the zip line we have to yell the name of one of the seniors that we love. Gosh it was really awesome. Then we have another resting session. And oh, in this week we have to ask for signs from the seniors and the teachers. But we have to write down their full name and their positions as well. But well there's some that were kind enough to give us their positions and even their names as well. Back to the camping. Well I also made one mistake here as well. I lost my hat. Then I get sentenced with push-ups again. Heh, forget that one. And in the night all of the participants in the camping grounds gather for a bonfire session. All of us share our thoughts, pray for our parents afterwards, and then having some barbecue. But well, after that, an unexpected thing happened. One of my teammates were gone missing. And then, well, we looked everywhere in the camping grounds for her, but fortunately, it's just a scenario. But yes it proves that we still care about our friends. And well, we also have been sentenced for that with push-ups as well. :P The next day, all of us went back to the school, but we have to get into some mud pool first. Taking orders and stuffs while down there. Then we walked to some river and cross it. Heh, it's only a normal thing from my old school. =P And then we gather around, having chats with the seniors and then went back to school to meet our parents. Fortunately my parents show up and they did gave me some stuffs, but unfortunately there are some of my friends' parents that didn't show up that day. Some of them cry and some of them looked just fine. But well it's totally a great Saturday. It kinda gives us some "boost" to continue the orientation for the last week.

The last week however, has lots of memorable events. For example in Monday it's my first time to attend a totally formal independence day ceremony. It's quite exhausting to stand up for about 1 hour or more but it's kinda memorable. Then in the afternoon we watch a local movie called 5 cm. It's about five college-time friends that decided to don't meet up for a while and gather again to climb Mount Semeru. That's the mountain that the first two generations of my old school climbed up. It's totally a funny and also inspiring movie. We laughed hard a lot that time. But also we get the message. The movie itself is so patriotic because actually they climbed up to the peak of that mountain on the 17th of August. So, this movie, I have to say, is the best local movie I've ever seen. Well to be honest I did some mistakes before this day, but I'm pretty lazy to tell it. And then, in Tuesday, we went to visit the national heroes cemetery. We did a ceremonial honor there and visit some of our heroes' graves. The trip itself weren't pretty long enough but it's memorable. Wednesday? Meh, another classes session. Well at least we did it only in the day, I guess. In the afternoon we did some partial rehearsal for the Saturday's opening ceremony of our batch. But well in Thursday, we started to do some dirty rehearsal. We did that mostly in the day and went back to the school, well, to be precise, dormitory, after that. Then in the afternoon we gather at the school to get our alma mater uniforms. Well some of us did get them but not me and several others. But the next day, me and the other friends finally get them. At first we did some "clean" rehearsals but I still think it doesn't work quite well. It's Friday BTW. Well, the unique thing is, in this rehearsal, me and my Muslim friends did Friday prayers not in a local mosque, but in a separate assemblies. Then we eat some lunch, did games with the seniors and went back to the dormitory. Then, all of us gather again in the school to get the alma mater uniforms, for the ones that hasn't got it yet and changing the size of some of the stuffs for the ones that has them already. Well BTW, in the times when I wait to get my alma mater, I am drawing some stuffs in my pocket sketchbook. I'll show them later. And BTW, after getting our uniforms, we gather in the school yard to get our name tags from our seniors. To be honest these days our seniors were really nice to us. There's no one that were being yelled at again. Aand, in the opening ceremony day, that is Saturday, guess what we do? Yep. We did that opening ceremony. Without more rehearsals, but I think it ran pretty well. But there's still some problems in matching our moves. But still, I think it doesn't have anymore problems. Also that my parents and some of my cousins were present during the opening ceremony. I am happy for that. It goes perfectly as I've planned long way before. And then, after that, I went back to the dormitory to get some of my stuffs to bring them home, and yep, I went home, well, to be precise, going for some trip to the mall first.

Guess why I wanted to have a trip to a mall? Well, I gave you guys the hint from the current mood that I have right now - I've watched Inside Out! Well at first I wanted to watch Rogue Nation first before that, but unfortunately I, well, to be honest, my relative can't get the ticket for it. It's already full. :| But at least I get to watch the movie that I've been planning to see long before the orientation. My friends Gamma-Wings and Thagirion have told me that it's a great movie. Yes it is. I love how they represent the memories, imaginations, and also the emotions in that movie. The storyline itself were very amazing. I really love how they can represent Riley, the main character's expressions throughout the movie. Both the things that happened inside her head nor the real life of her, converges into a very great story to see. Oh, BTW, the theme is also kinda similar to the occasions that I've been through in the dormitory, to be honest. Also that, back in the orientation there's one graduate that teaches us about "Culture Shock", which is something that always occur when transiting into a new community/place. I've been told by her there's four phases in that - "Honeymoon" phase, Crisis/Disintegration phase, Reintegration phase, and finally the Adaptation phase. I bet Inside Out is totally a perfect movie to represent that situation. I'm sorry - spoiler alert! Don't you dare to read the paragraph below the line if you don't like spoilers.

The "Honeymoon" phase is represented here when Joy inside Riley's head gives her some great expectations after moving from Minnesota to San Francisco. And well, the most of the middle part of the movie represents her Crisis/Disintegration phase. Sadness inside her head made some mistakes, and well if I have to explain this "realistically", the new things around her made her depressed, and the positive sides in her head, that were represented as "islands", such as humor, friendship, talent/hobby, honesty, and family, were, well, collapsing. Until she's too depressed to stay and decides to make a runaway back to Minnesota. And well, the final two phases, such as Reintegration and Adaptation phase, were represented in the last parts of the movie. The Reintegration phase were represented when Riley comes back to her parents. She tells the truth and be in touch again with her family. And lastly, the Adaptation phase, is when she's getting better and starts to feel like home there in San Francisco.

Okay, spoiler ends. Now you're safe to read things here. I have to say that Inside Out is one of my favorite Pixar movies right now. Well, other movies such as Brave, and also the upcoming The Good Dinosaur, I'll only pick them because of the effects and the amount of realism that they have in modelling the environments for those movies. But Inside Out, I have to say that it's the best Pixar movie in terms of story and meaning. The theme really fits to the ones that were told by one of the graduates of my new school, and also the story is really touching and great to see. I am so glad to see this magnificent movie.

Welcome back.
Oh wow that's a lot. Must have been harsh having to do push ups. You'd get stronger though so that's alright ;p
Nice that you enjoyed Inside Out too. It's a good movie :)
